Hello again lovely movie buffs.
Today we have yet another interesting movie review all for your viewing pleasure.
It is titled When You Love June.
A comical movie with a funny twist, crazy depictions and a story that makes you laugh and ponder.
It tells the story of a young and beautiful woman who gets enamored by the charm, masculine poise and confidence exuded by a male stranger she willfully falls for.
Cast
Regina Daniels is cast as June, a beautiful, hardworking, young, and sensuous lady whose culinary skills help keep her financially afloat as the neighborhood chef.
She is very friendly and understands the mood and temperament of her customers who troop in daily to get a taste of her tantalising menu.
June is known to always rhyme the following lines when her customers hail her "Totori your body"
Clinton Joshua plays Kachi, a stoic and very handsome young dude.
At first sight, he is often considered arrogant and not sociable, but below that layer is a young guy who loves his space and cares for others.
Ola Daniels is cast as Clinton Joshua's mom in an alternate realm as well as June's mom in reality.
She is a strong-willed, very disciplined mother, typical of our Nigerian mothers.
She believes her way is the only way, and this disposition makes her impose her will on her wards.
Emeka Eze is cast as Samuel, he has an obsession with June who he wants to win over as his lover at whatever cost.
Lami Yankey takes up the role of Tasha, an independent-minded and well-bred lady from a distinguished family, she is also cast as June's family maid in another realm of reality.
Olamma is played by Munachi Ituma, she is friends with June.
A very dependable person who stays through to anyone she regards as a friend.

Plot & Story
The story looks at love and the many variances and levels people go to make a commitment to who they love.
It tells the story of June, a first-class graduate who goes berserk in her bid to win over the love of Kachi, a rich, young and handsome dude from a well-respected family and distinguished background.
It also looks at the many upheavals he had to surmount to make her acceptable to his very critical and opinionated mom, who tried to impose her own choice of a woman on the former.
Character Development and Performance
Regina Daniels showed a humorous side to her personality I never knew existed in this role.
I laughed very hard watching her act to impress her love interest, while trying to keep her pride even when it appeared she was the desperate one here, haha, it was quite hilarious.
Though I found her exaggerated expressions in some of the scenes a bit out of character, then I enjoyed her childishness, I mean this is Regina Daniels. [Chuckles]
Clinton Joshua played the part, he is always known to be the loving son to either Patricia Charles or Ola Daniels, but this time around it was the latter he played the dutiful son to the latter.
I also loved the shock on his face when the true realities of things dawned on him at the end of this movie.
Ola Daniels is fast taking up the role of Nollywood's hottest movie mum, she has taken over the reins from the likes of Joyce Kalu, Ngozi Evuka, etc.
She was a typical Nigerian mother who you'd only love to hate and love again.
Emeka Eze is still climbing the rungs while working to establish himself in the industry.
In this role as Samuel, he was average, maybe in a more challenging role we could get to appreciate his artistic ability, but for this movie, his acting didn't quite cut it for me.
Lami Yankey was cast as Tasha, Kachi's love interest, and then Tasha, the elder sister to Kachi.
I kinda laughed at the contradiction and funny twist of the story, you only need to watch the movie to get this plot.
Lami is still coming up as an actress, in this role, she was quite limited in terms of scenes, just like Emeka Eze, I think in a more challenging capacity she could do better.
I loved the character Olamma played by Munachi Ituma, she was funny and gave Regina the much-needed assistance required to make this movie a good watch.
I'd love to see Munachi in stronger roles, maybe we get to enjoy her humor and seriousness, because she is a working contrast, displaying both qualities while tuning in to her artistic mien, whatever that means.
Directing
Ben Cassie again wears the Directorial hat like she mostly does in all of Uchenna Mbunabo's productions.
The story twist and the ability to keep the viewers to the end without second-guessing the script was quite remarkable.
The locations were few in-between coupled with a lean cast.
The outing wasn't s bad one and this earned her an A.
Visuals and Cinematography
Good camera work, not too fantastic camera angles and shots, just the usual YouTube standard.
I loved the external scenes, the night scenes weren't that amazing, but it wasn't bad overall.
This gets a B.
Editing
The editing here was still within YouTube standards.
I loved the grading and some of the beautiful depictions where the amazing colors told the story.
This Editing walks away with an A.
Soundtrack & Sound Design
The sound design was quite average, and the score interrupted the dialogue in several scenes.
Uchenna Mbunabo is making strides with his movies, but investing in better audio wouldn't be a bad idea.
This sound design gets a B.
Theme & Message
As parents, the urge to always dictate the trajectory of our kids could sometimes be counterproductive.
The need to establish boundaries and keep the status quo could also alter the course of the lives of those we love.
Believing in one's choices even when it could be at a costly price or bring a wedge between people we love, is never a bad thing, Kachi ensured he never wavered till he got what he wanted or maybe he didn't?
Summary
When You Love June is a good movie, filled with humor, a very surprising twist, and good acting that conveys the movie plot.
